Nicole Turgeon, MD, ACTSI investigator and associate professor of surgery at Emory University School of Medicine

Nicole Turgeon (transplant) collaborated with Kevin Kim (interventional radiology) to perform the state's first islet transplant in the interventional radiology suite. To date, they have performed this minimally invasive procedure on three patients with unstable type 1 diabetes.
