ACTSI Clinical Informatics Fellowship-Due February 24
The Emory Center for Comprehensive Informatics (CCI) and the ACTSI are seeking applications from junior faculty in clinical departments for the ACTSI Clinical Informatics Fellowship. The fellowship will provide preceptored training support in Clinical Informatics. We are seeking fellow candidates with a demonstrated interest in Clinical Informatics. The fellowship is targeted at applicants, current junior faculty or those who will be faculty by September 1, 2011, who wish to pursue a career involving Clinical Informatics.
This training is also intended to prepare fellows for the proposed American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) certification examination in Clinical Informatics. Candidates who are already playing an Informatics role (formal or informal) in their area of clinical expertise or in healthcare quality are encouraged to apply.
Fellows will carry out supervised informatics projects in their own clinical area along with course work related to informatics. Expected results include publication, development of informatics-related research proposals and demonstration of the value of informatics projects to Emory or to ACTSI patient-related research endeavors. Arrangements are also being made to offer Emory Graduate School certificate credit for this experience.
Salary support for this fellowship will be at 25% effort up to the NIH salary cap. The fellowship is a two-year commitment, and two positions are available beginning September 1, 2011. This fellowship is intended to promote career development and to augment candidates’ existing informatics activities with a training component. Since it is anticipated that some fellows will already be playing an informatics role, it is anticipated that these fellows will be spending at least half of their time on informatics and informatics-related clinical activities.
Interested applicants should submit their CV and a three page statement describing their interest and qualifications along with two letters of reference and a letter of support from their department chair or division director by February 24, 2011.
Application materials can be sent to Stacy Johnson at s.johnson@emory.edu.
