SoCRATES: Short Course on Clinical Research and Translational Experiences in Science
The SoCRATES course (clinical and translational research didactic course) was created for Emory medical students to take during the Discovery Phase, by ACTSI scholars Beau Bruce, MD and Andi Shane, MD. This course will provide medical students an overview and introduction to clinical and translational research in academic and non-academic settings. Didactic sessions, panel discussions, and a society-based journal club will provide forums for students to gain an appreciation of the fundamentals of clinical and translational research, biostatistics, epidemiology, the research enterprise, and practical and applied aspects of conducting research.
