Vision Statement

The Research Nursing Alliance unites the expertise of the Georgia CTSA Clinical Research Centers (GCRCs) of the Georgia CTSA to become the premier model research nursing alliance for NIH CTSA sites. The mission of the Research Nursing Alliance of the Georgia CTSA Clinical Research Centers (GCRCs) Program of the Georgia CTSA is to create synergistic, collaborative partnerships whose purpose is to promote standards of excellence in healthcare and research. 

Mission

The mission of the Research Nursing Alliance of the Georgia CTSA Clinical Research Centers (GCRCs) Program of the Georgia CTSA is to create synergistic, collaborative partnerships whose purpose is to promote standards of excellence in healthcare and research.

Goals

  • Increase communication and interaction among the tiers of the GCRCs and Nursing Alliance sites
  • Create new research tools and employ new information technologies
  • Provide resources and develop educational tools
  • Develop nursing research projects that facilitate goals

The Research Nursing Alliance (RNA) has representation from Emory, Morehouse School of Medicine, the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, with representation within the International Association of Clinical Research Nurses (IACRN) and the national Clinical Research Center (CRC) at NIH working to define the scope and practice for research nurses including recruitment and retention, research data collection, quality improvement, and ongoing educational requirements. With nurses credentialed at multiple healthcare sites, the RNA supports multiple investigators and projects across the Georgia CTSA partner institutions with a flexible "floating" pool of nurses.
