Atlanta Research Consortia for Nutrition & Exercise (ARC-NEx)

ARC-NEx is a multi-institutional partnership that facilitates nutrition- and exercise-related research throughout metropolitan Atlanta. ARC-NEx will develop new collaborations, increase resource accessibility, support training and education of students and interns, enhance the dissemination of research findings to the community, and organize events for professional development and networking, such as a biannual conference of Atlanta-based investigators in an effort to reduce the prevalence of obesity and its related co-morbidities and other forms of malnutrition in the Atlanta area.

ARC-NEx integrates with funded programs and centers including the Children’s Wellness Initiative Strong4Life. The Children's Wellness Initiative is a five point campaign (media campaign and social marketing; community outreach through the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, recreation centers, YMCA, etc.; community physician network of pediatricians; schools and daycare facilities; and hospitals and specialty clinics) and includes researchers from various institutions and organizations. ARC-NEx and Children’s Wellness Research Initiative will work together to bring ACTSI investigators interested in obesity, nutrition, and exercise research across the lifespan together for partnership and collaboration development.
